Abstract

During the survey of soil and plant-parasitic nematodes of vegetable and fruit crops of Kashmir valley, Jammu and Kashmir, ten new species including two new genera of following were recovered: Fotedaronema kashmiriensis gen. n. sp. nov., from soil around roots of Pyrus communis L. from Sonamarg, Parasicagutter chitwoodi gen. n. sp. nov., from soil around roots of Pyrus malus L. in Pattan, Kochinema pahalgamiensis sp. nov., from soil around roots of Brassica oleraceae from Pahalgam, Kochinema kanganiensis sp. nov., from soil around roots of Lycopersicum esculentum Miller, in Kangan, Tylencholaimellus brassicus sp. nov., from the roots of Brassica oleraceae var. capitata L. in Pulwama, Tylencholaimus orientalis sp. nov., from soil around roots of Glycine max (L.) Miller, in Handwara, Longidorus goldeni sp. nov., from soil around roots of Prunus persica in Sopore, Mylonchulus shamimi sp. nov., from soil around roots of Pyrus communis L. from Sonamarg, Chronogaster anantnagiensis sp. nov., from soil around roots of Pyrus malus L. in Anantnag, and Chronogaster mustafaensis sp. nov., from soil around roots of Juglans regia L. in Tral, Kashmir. Morphological and morphometric details, line drawings along with description, characteristics, and relationships of each new genus and species with its closely related genera and species are given
